Our Transformational Practices
All our practices are based on research and rooted in ancient wisdom and will be used in our programs depending on what is needed. The potential in transformation comes from combining these practices at the right time in the transformation journey.
Knowledge of human Transformation
Transformation occurs, when we experience an internal shift in our individual and collective worldview. Insights emerge, that make us respond and act differently, without effort or thinking. It’s a natural process, it is expansive and irreversible. Like a caterpillar evolving into a butterfly. And it’s very different from change. The old way is still available, yet having experienced the new, it is no longer an attractive alternative. Our practice comes from a world recognized, global pioneer in the field of Human Transformation, Gita Bellin.
Systemic Diagnosis
We use the systemic phenomenological approach to support leaders to become aware and understand the hidden information in patterns which play out unconsciously in organisations. Patterns ensure continuity, stability, and predictability of the system. Yet, when the outside world changes (at present day a constant) those same patterns can become limiting forces, when seeking to swiftly adapt to new market circumstances or challenges. This way of looking may be helpful when there is questions, dynamics, resistance in the organisation which can not be explained logically and can bring clarity and puts transformation into motion at individual and collective level.
Nature Trails and Leadership
Nature is a powerful catalyst for Transformation and renewal. It enables us to connect to our own true nature: our unicity and purpose. Nature offers us a different perspective, simply by distancing ourselves from our fast paced, busy lives and take time reflect. And while we open up further to nature’s essence, experience the natural rhythm, be All-One, new insights and clarity emerge spontaneously. Nature Trails support our innate desire to be whole and raise our consciousness, re-building the connection between nature and humanity. The various approaches we use support leaders and organizations to accelerate their transformation towards Natural Leadership and to grow their sense with our whole eco-system.
Purpose-led; igniting collective potential and impact
Knowing your purpose inspires every person to live their full potential. When an individual’s purpose is in alignment with the organisational purpose, the collective potential ignites. Organisational purpose is the glue that inspires all of the people on which the business depends to succeed: its employees, customers, suppliers, the communities in which it operates, its investors and the future generations affected by what it does. The power of purpose is to move people to commit to a shared worthwhile endeavour, unlocking their potential to create greater value for both the business and society. We see organisational purpose as something that is beyond just making profit; a purpose that benefits society and respects people, with profit as one outcome. A business needs to make a profit otherwise it cannot survive – but making a profit is not its purpose. Clearwater supports business leaders to clarify their purpose and create the organisational purpose, bringing flow in how they are aligned and create a plan to live the purpose in all the organisation does.
Whole system change
It is often said that “organizations don’t transform, people do”. And of course that is a fundamental truth. Nevertheless long-lasting culture transformation in organizations takes place when the whole system is being addressed. Both the individual and the collective not only influence one and another, they provide the essential space for the other to occur and accelerate the process. This means simultaneously an inside out as well as an outside in approach is needed. When we apply a ‘Whole System Change’ approach, the ‘soft’ stuff (values and behaviors) and the ‘hard’ stuff (structures, KPI’s, etc.) are brought into alignment, supporting the desired culture.
Understanding organisational culture through Values
Values are a simple and profound way for mapping and understanding organizational culture. All people have values and make decisions based on their values. By mapping your values to the Seven Levels of Consciousness® Model, you will be able to measure and manage your culture. ClearWater facilitators are certified to use the Cultural Transformation Tools of the Barrett Values Centre®. This methodology has assisted thousands of organizations across 94 countries to increase the health of their organizational culture, and thus, improving outcomes for all of their stakeholders.
Psychodynamics – Creating aha moments
The brain processes 8 bits of data consciously, whilst a staggering 11 billion is unconscious. Psychodynamics is an approach to psychology that emphasizes systematic study of the psychological forces that underlie human behavior, feelings, and emotions and how they might relate to early experience. This way we explore the dynamic relations between conscious and unconscious motivation. Knowing where your motivations come from and then again making a conscious choice is helpful when you want to change direction as an individual as well as a team or organisation.
Mastering your Mind through Mindfulness and meditation
Meditation is a way of becoming more aware of your choices and actions. There are two sides of the coin to transformation, firstly the knowledge of what you want to transform and secondly the ability to observe yourself and make a conscious choice with clarity of mind. Depending on your situation, we offer The Dynamic Mind Practice (DMP), The ABCD Practice or Heartfulness. All practices are based on ancient wisdom traditions.
U Theory – a method for implementing awareness based change
In order to respond to the VUCA world, a different way of approaching leadership is needed. We design our programs and use the U process to lead culture transformation. The U process is based on a concept of “presencing”; a blend of the words “presence” and “sensing,”. Presencing signifies a heightened state of attention that allows individuals and groups to shift the inner place from which they function. When that shift happens, people begin to operate from a future space of possibility that they feel wants to emerge. At ClearWater we invite leaders to become aware of their inner place, so they can facilitate the shift with their people.
Dialogue – changing the way we relate and collaborate
Relating is the new organizing principle. This means the way we come into relation is crucial for collaboration. Dialogue is this new way. Dialogue comes from the ancient Greek dialogos. ‘Dia’ meaning “through” and ‘logos’ meaning “word”. Collaboration through dialogue allows us to connect with and understand one another, to step into a relationship and to interact. The origin of dialogue is connected to the search for meaning and insight. Therefore, conversations are the foundation of all collective work, and the quality of our conversations defines the results of our collaborations. Making use of Collective Presencing, a collective sense-making and meaning-making method, enables us to integrate our diverse ways of knowing. It weaves authentic, individual contributions into new synergy, needed for the complex issues we need to deal with in our world today.
